Why Locals Choose Us

A shop built for the table, not the shelf

  • Rotating stock — we reorder weekly so what you see is what's fresh, not what's been sitting since spring.
  • Community recipes — ask us how to make your tagine, and we'll point you to the right blend and technique.
  • Order special requests — didn't find what you need? We source it. Just ask at the counter.
  • Walk-ins welcome — no appointment, no minimum. Browse at your pace.

Our Story

Built on the belief that a well-stocked pantry changes everything

Moroccan World Shop started with a simple observation: Meriden had great neighbors who wanted to cook with ingredients that actually tasted like the ones their families used back home — and nowhere nearby carried them.

So we opened the doors on East Main Street and filled the shelves the way we'd want our own kitchen stocked. Every jar, every sack, every loaf is chosen the same way — would we use it on a weeknight? Would we serve it to guests? If the answer is no, it doesn't make the shelf.

Today we serve a community that spans Connecticut and beyond, and we're just as particular about what comes through the door as we were on day one.
